QSD4 SERIES

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

The QSD4 series offers a versatile, user-friendly, and high-performance option for larger vessels up to 30 meters and suited to engine power to more than 3,000 hp per unit. The QSD4 is a fully integrated solution that boasts extremely low maintenance needs.

As a comprehensive solution, installation is easier and faster than any traditional conventional propulsion system. It incorporates the driveline, thrust bearing, propeller, rudders, steering links and exhaust in a bolt on assembly. 

The QSD4 series is transom mounted, providing greater flexibility for designers. This setup allows for engines to be positioned further aft, eliminating the necessity for V-drive gearboxes, which in turn frees up valuable midships space for important accommodations. Engineering install runs are shorter, easier and so less expensive.

The carbon fibre/Eglass composite body is a monocoque structure meticulously built using latest resin infusion techniques. All mechanical components are made from marine grade materials such as NIBRAL and stainless steel, making the QSD4 light weight, robust and corrosion resistant. 

All vital mechanics and components are situated inboard away from the harmful elements. Oil lubricated thrust bearing is water cooled and exhaust is also accommodated for on all models with optional flange fittings as shown. All QSD4 drives are supplied with intermediate shaft and Q-SPD specified custom designed propeller and power steering to match application thus completing the full propulsion solution. 

Steering is achieved using any conventional marine steering system of choice via the convenient inboard mounted tiller. Steering can either be supplied as part of an integrated solution from Q-Marine or the builder is free to choose their favoured steering solution to integrate with the rest of the ships systems. 

The QSD4 series is offered in 2 base models, the QSD402 and QSD450.
